So today i had the urge to cut and i was bored so i found a string on my desk and tied it around my pointer finger because i thought it would look cool. As i was doing it i realized it was a lot more difficult than i originally thought and it required a lot of concentration. After a 10 minutes or so of tying to tie the string around my finger i finally did it. Afterwords i was so proud of myself and i also realized my urge to cut was gone. While attempting to tie the string around my finger i had focused all my attention on it and everything else seemed to disappear. So if you ever get the urge to self harm, get a string and tie it around one of your fingers, (without using your teeth) because not only does it distract you from hurting yourself it also provides a sense of accomplishment. As you do it more and more you get better and better at it, so as you get better start to do more things, like switching hands or trying to tie it on every finger or seeing how fast you can do it. So next time you want to hurt yourself, please at least try this, because it worked for me :)
